On our way back from Salzburg, we stopped in Kufstein and had dinner at our favorite restaurant. It is just below the castle, and we sat at the same table where we had dinner over a year ago when here on vacation. The food is wunderbar! We wanted to walk along the river, but it was too cold. As you can see, this area is very quaint and beautiful.

Stake dance in Salzburg. We stayed overnight with another missionary couple, the Reber's. We met some good friends at the dance, including Iris and Andrae Fuchs. We had so much fun -- "I could have danced all night . . ." We enjoyed visiting, dancing, and the entertainment . Plus the food was fantastic.
But also very interesting was watching everyone else dance. Learning how to dance is mandatory in their schools at a very young age. And WOW -- watching the young and older couples dance was amazing. It was like a floor show!

This is the road going to the Stake Center in Salzburg. It is about two miles long and is barely wide enough for one car. However, it is a two-way road and has a fair amount of traffic. In the front of the picture you can see a wider spot. There are about four of these along the road. If you see a car coming you need to wait in the wider spot or else one of the cars will have to back up. There is about a 2 foot drop off on each side of the road. Even in the wider spots the cars have to go very slow and inch by each other. Oh, the thrill of seeing another car coming down the road!
Transfers! Elder Glasmann was transferred out and Elder Lee (not pictured) arrived. We grow to love these young Elders and admire their strengths and testimony. They are fine young men. Elder Glasmann was our District Leader, and is very talented on the piano. We loved to hear him play and sing at our meetings. He was transferred out of our zone, but hopefully our paths will cross again.

Enjoying breakfast as home before our busy day begins.

Snow and Cold. Ice everywhere! Temperatures ranging between 6 to 12 degrees below freezing! Walking from our front door to the car on 4 inches of ice was dangerous! But we must say -- it was beautiful. Then two days ago we had a February thaw and we only hope it will last for a while.
We hiked up the mountain to a waterfall and the ice formations were beautiful. Oh, how we love to walk and hike through this beautiful country we are now calling "home."

Jerry and Konrad doing dishes. When we work on Konrad's history we are often invited to their home for lunch. YUM! Paula is a wonderful cook. After lunch Paula and I enjoy relaxing, visiting AND watching the men clean the kitchen.
